The University of Texas has concluded that no formal investigation of the study methodology used by associate professor of sociology, Mark Regnerus, is warranted in regard to a controversial study he published in the journal, Social Science Research. The study indicates that children raised by gay parents experienced worse childhoods on average than children of married couples of the opposite sex, who were also their biological parents.
Assoc. Prof. Regnerus sent an email to the American-Statesman, an Austin newspaper, that he was pleased with the university‘s finding. “It was a thorough and fair process, and conducted professionally.”
Nevertheless, doubts remain in the minds of some of Regenerus’ peers, due to the fact that some of the study participants were paid by conservative, anti-LGBT-equality activist organizations, and because the journal in which the study was published has expressed strong misgivings about his methodologies. Social Science Research cited “serious flaws” in the peer-review process. Ultimately, the journal disavowed the study, saying it never should have published to the work.
The journal disavowed the study? I mean I understand Sherkat who was asked to review it has that opinion. but can you stick with facts here? If the journal, or its editor, has disavowed the study or retracted it, can you provide some documentation? I don’t think this happened. M

Since when did the study study “children raised by gay parents”? Were not these children all raised by one or more parents who had in fact brought these children into the world as a result of heterosexual intercourse with the opposite sex, and in most every case also raised the children under the care of a (married?) opposite sex couple for the majority of their childhoods? If one parent had a brief same-sex “romantic” relationship sometime before the child reached age 18, that does not mean the child was raised by even one gay parent much less parents plural. That would be like saying Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s six children were “raised by gay parents” if Eleanor had at sometime a romantic relationship with a lady friend as history reports.
