Paul Davis has been organizing the Summer of Love Pool Party for more than a decade. Originally organized 12 years ago as “the Luau,” the event is a get-wet-and-have-fun summer classic, which Davis says is one of the most anticipated get-togethers in San Diego’s LGBT community. More than 130 people attended the 2012 Summer of Love Pool Party, which benefitted Home Start and Center for Community Solutions.
“We’d like to extend a special thank you to sponsors: Babycakes, Babbo Bar and Grill and Phil’s BBQ. A total of $1,115 was raised for Center for Community Solutions and $1,475 raised for Home Start,” said Davis. “Another special thank you to host Fred Paisley and volunteers: Kevin Radi, David Perkins, Carl Latkowsky, Jason Jensen, Paul Tucci, Tim Shanahan, Dennis McKowen, Will Alverson, Larry Potter and Kurt Carlson.”
Next year, the Summer of Love Pool Party will benefit Home Start and will be held Aug. 10, 2013 from 5-10 p.m. v
