Perhaps he hasn’t always been on your schedule or mine in terms of full-throated support for LGBT equality and civil rights. But, President Barack Obama has been (to paraphrase the popular myth that dubbed President Bill Clinton “America’s first Black President”) the closest thing to America’s first LGBT President.
