San Diego Democrats for Equality will send 10 delegates to this year’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. Sept. 3 – 6. This is the highest number of delegates the club has ever sent to the convention since its founding in 1975.
“A tremendous amount of progress has been made in the last four years under the leadership of President Obama,” said Doug Case, president of Dems for Equality. “We are incredibly proud to be an active part of a party that has supported our community, and we will continue to work to ensure that the president gets re-elected.”
The following is a partial list of Dems for Equality club members who will be serving as delegates to this year’s convention: Matt Corrales, Suzie Ditmars, Jess Durfee, Toni Lopez, Don Mullen, Evan Parent, Craig Roberts, Michael Thomason and Andrea Villa.
The club will also be co-hosting an Obama Watch Party with the San Diego County Young Dems Thursday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. to watch President Obama’s speech as he officially accepts the Democratic Party nomination at the convention. The event will take place upstairs at The Range, at their new location at 1202 University Ave. in San Diego. Admission is free and open to all.
