Photographer Jennifer B. Hudson’s work is fantastic in quality, honest in sentiment. Through somewhat strange or otherworldly scenes Hudson’s works first inspires curiosity; as we draw near for a closer look we are enveloped into spaces of intimacy. Something stirs within us – reflection, belief, hope. Hudson’s spiritual upbringing is evident in works that engage themes of redemption and recovery, renewal and healing, resilience and trust.
Medic engages some of life’s most intimate moments and universal aspirations. Illness, pain and mortality are combated by the desire to preserve the body and spirit.

Mission Hills Concerts in the Park
One of the most beloved traditions in Mission Hills, the free concerts in Pioneer Park are put on by community organizations and businesses. This Friday enjoy the Jackstraws Surf Band. These talented musicians set the mood to fun, as they play songs specifically designed to get your feet tapping. The Jackstraws are a costumed/themed musical ensemble with a touch of the Vaudevillian. Dressed in a variety of costumes, they also perform at the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (formerly the Wild Animal Park), Seaport Village and Sea World.

Altar Boyz
Altar Boyz is a foot-stomping, musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of their national “Raise the Praise” tour. The Boyz are five all-singing, all-dancing heartthrobs from Ohio: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham. With tight harmonies and spectacular choreography, Altar Boyz will delight audiences. As they perform the Boyz question their loyalty to each other and ask whether or not faith is really holding them together. They finally deliver a message of unity, that “there is no star as bright as its constellation, no harmony in a single voice.”

An Iliad
