The much anticipated movie Cloud Atlas weaves together the complex lives and storylines of the individuals we meet every day. Written and directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, and Andy Wachowski, the film is based on the novel Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell.
Lana Wachowski, previously Larry, makes her first official appearance – a special moment for the filmmaker.
The video – an eclectic mish-mash of sentence-finishing and quirky banter – is the first trailer for the film to be released October 26, 2012.
Reports at Entertainment Weekly added:
The directors talk about their love for David Mitchell’s novel, and even discuss the film’s fraught production. The three filmmakers keep finishing each other’s sentences, almost as if they’re speaking with one voice, as if all humanity is joined together in common unity, one Over-soul, within which every man’s particular being is contained and made one with all other, that common heart. In short, precisely the same themes Peter Berg explored in Battleship.
Lana and her brother, Andy, attended Whitney Young High School in Chicago alongside San Diego LGBT Weekly publisher Stampp Corbin, also the same school where Michelle Obama attended. Lana graduated in 1983 and attended during the same tenure as Michelle Obama nee Robinson. According to Corbin, the high school was very LGBT friendly, and even in 1978, there were several out students.
