In response to the recent homophobic statements released by Chick Fil A, Canvass for a Cause, along with other local organizations like San Diego Alliance for Marriage Equality, will be endorsing the National Same Sex Kiss Day.
Chick Fil A officially came out against the LGBT community last week, saying that the chain only supports the so-called traditional family unit. Chick Fil A has long donated money to organizations that are publicly against the LGBT community, but this is a direct statement against same-sex couples that can and should be publicly addressed .
In honor of love, equality, and the real definition of family, there will be a National Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick Fil A stores around the country.
“I can tell you that I am boycotting Chick Fil A waffle fries,” says Canvass for a Cause Field Coordinator Alfie Padilla. “Homophobia is just not acceptable. You can’t come out against equal rights and not expect some sort of recourse from the community that you’re attacking. There are multiple reasons to boycott.”
The San Diego event is open to all community members who do not support Chick Fil A’s homophobic stance. The event will take place on at 5PM on August 3rd, at the ChickFil A located on 3570 Sports Arena Boulevard.
