Teens from Orange County, California have released an online PSA featuring Betty DeGeneres to raise awareness for Seth’s Law – which requires California schools to enact anti-bullying policies. More info below or here. This week the teens are also contributing posts about bullying to Huffington Post Gay Voices and Youth Voices. The young adults are part of the Youth Empowered to Act (YETA) program in Orange County. They began a campaign to raise awareness for Seth’s Law when their friend Kearian Giertz was disqualified from the 2012 Fullerton High School ‘Mr. Fullerton’ pageant after he spoke about his support for marriage equality and desire to ‘marry the man of his dreams’ onstage. As part of their work with YETA, they launched a sign-on letter which has been signed by Molly Shannon, Perez Hilton, Dianna Agron, Tabatha Coffey, among others. GLAAD is assisting them with publicizing their campaign.
