Democrats for Equality wants you on Pride weekend

Sign up to volunteer at the parade, the booth or both!

Volunteer sign-up has started for San Diego LGBT Pride weekend. Volunteer shifts are 2-hours – have a great time discussing the club, signing up people for our eNews and Voter Guide, and getting to know other members! Shifts are only 2-hours and you can sign up for multiple shifts on Saturday or Sunday. All volunteers will receive free admission to the festival.

We always welcome everyone to help decorate our float on Saturday, July 21 at 9:00am and to march with us!

If you’re interested in volunteering, please email volunteers@democratsforequality.org

Let’s get GOing!

Do you want Barrack Obama, Dianne Feinstein, Scott Peters, Susan Davis, Marty Block, Toni Atkins, Shirley Weber, Dave Roberts, Sherry Lightner, and other Democratic candidates to win in November?  Then you really need to join the GO Team.

The GO (Grassroots Organizing) Team is the San Diego County Democratic Party’s voter contact program.  GO Team volunteers walk and/or call voters in their own precinct (or another precinct of their choice) in support of all the Democratic Party’s endorsed candidates.  In 2008, there were 1,000 GO Team members active in the General Election, carrying slate doorhangers printed by the County Democratic Party.  At least that many are needed for 2012.

During the fall, volunteers will contact voters in their precinct and inform them about endorsed candidates. They will also be contacting targeting Vote by Mail voters in October immediately prior to ballots arriving in their mailboxes.  And of course, they will be working in November to get Democratic voters to the polls.

This project is critical to our success.
