Patty McCormack plays the most wicked child imaginable in this classic film that is both campy fun and downright scary. Director Mervyn LeRoy keeps the suspense taught and focused, giving the viewer ample time to identify and sympathize with Christine (Nancy Kelly), whose daughter Rhoda (McCormack) is not possessed or crazy, just evil. Eileen Heckart steals some scenes playing the grieving mother of one of Rhoda’s victims. It’s a great film, and great fun.
