The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus (SDGMC) will kick off its 2012 season with a production called Olé! Olé! Olé!, Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m. at the historic Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego.

Following sold-out performances by gay men’s choruses in Seattle, Houston and Minneapolis, the San Diego Chorus edition of Olé! features pop hits, classic cultural flair and dance moves all set to a live eight-piece orchestra.

SDGMC Artistic Director Gary Holt said, “There is something in this spicy show for young and old alike – from the classic I Love Lucy Cuban Pete scene to the thrilling 2008 Tony award-winning In the Heights. We’ve got some of the greatest chart-topping songs from Ricky Martin, Selena and Gloria Estefan, as well as classic Carlos Santana and campy Carmen Miranda. And we’re proud to feature well-known Spanish-language favorites like “Granada”, “De Colores” and “Spanish Eyes”. You’ll love our take on Broadway hits like “Hernando’s Hideaway” from Pajama Game, and our 14 handsome and sexy Latin dancers will leave you breathless. The 120 singers are excited to be your Latin lover for the evening and this is one fiesta you don’t want to miss!”

Tickets for the Saturday evening performance are $25-$43; tickets for the Sunday matinee performance are $21-$38. A $5 discount is available for seniors, students, military and groups of 10 or more. The historic Balboa Theatre is located at 868 Fourth Ave. at E Street in downtown San Diego. Three hours of free parking is available with validation at adjacent Horton Plaza.
