LOS ANGELES— The 45th Anniversary of The Advocate’s Heroes Hall of Fame will be celebrated Mar. 29 honoring the pioneers, activists, and allies for the LGBT community.
For each year, The Advocate has selected a person or group of people responsible for great advances in the cause of LGBT equality. TV personality Ross Mathews will host the evening, benefiting the Point Foundation, at the Beverly Hilton hotel’s world-renowned International Ballroom in Beverly Hills, Calif. The evening will also feature a special performance by Grammy Award-winning artist Macy Gray.
Throughout the month of March, the Heroes Hall of Fame will be unveiled exclusively online at www.advocate.com/45.
Honorees who will be announced Mar. 26, include 1970 Honoree Dr. Franklin Kameny, 1975 Honoree Oliver William “Bill” Sipple, 1980 Honoree Jerry Brown, 1985 Honoree David Goodstein, 1990 Honoree Bill T. Jones, 1995 Honoree Roseanne, 2000 Honoree Rudy Galindo, 2005 Honoree Melissa Etheridge, ad 2010 Honoree Chaz Bono.
