Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has an ally in San Diego Chargers’ quarterback Philip Rivers following his official endorsement of the Republican candidate. Rivers, an Alabama native, praised Santorum for his conservative values including his views on traditional marriage.
“I am supporting Rick Santorum for president because of his stance on issues that attack vital Christian values our country was founded upon: no abortion, upholding traditional marriage, defending religious freedom, no euthanasia,” Rivers said.
Rivers’ statement was released by the Santorum campaign Friday.
The timely endorsement was announced just days before Tuesday’s official polling in Alabama as Santorum won the state.
Rivers, a devout Catholic, is a four-time Pro Bowl pick and a 2010 NFL Alumni Player of the Year.
I am now a Raiders fan >-(

“vital Christian values our country was founded upon: no abortion, upholding traditional marriage, defending religious freedom, no euthanasia”??
Where are those in the Declaration of Independence?
Other than religious freedom, of which Santorum hardly seems a champion, where are they in the Constitution?
