Shawn Loftis, a director and actor in a series of gay porn films, will be allowed to return to the classroom after the Florida-based teacher was fired for his role in x-rated movies.
The actor/director, also known on film as Collin O’Neal, will be allowed to resume teaching in addition to applying as a permanent educator in the Florida school system. As a part of his resumption of the role, Loftis, 36, will remain on probation for two years the LA Weekly is reporting.
“This is my past and I left it behind,” he told LA Weekly. “I can use my experiences in life to teach kids. The key point is that they said when you go back to the classroom and a student brings this up to you, you will be able to handle that. I thought that was highly progressive of them.”
Loftis has been working as a substitute teacher for the past year and has held other various roles including a citizen reporter at CNN iReport.
