One Million Moms attempt Toys ‘R’ Us boycott over gay Archie comic book sales

gay news - san diegoDespite their failed attempt to dethrone Ellen DeGeneres from her post at JCPenney, the group One Million Moms is at is again — only this time, the group has set their eyes on attacking a cartoon character and its affiliates. Archie Comics and Toys ‘R’ Us are the latest nemeses to make the hit list at the anti-gay organization following an announcement that One Million Moms will boycott the kids’ superstore if they refuse to remove the gay comic book from its shelves.

The boycott comes in wake of the Archie Comics Gay Wedding issue, which features the wedding of openly-gay character Kevin Keller.

One Million Moms explains via their website:

Select Toys ‘R’ Us stores are now selling ‘Archie’ comic books with a same-sex wedding displayed on the front cover. The front cover reads “Just Married” with two men marrying and one is wearing a service uniform. This comic book is being sold in select stores across the country. One example is the Queensbury, NY location in the upstate New York area.

The anti-gay group further ‘warns’ parents of why the gay comic book is dangerous, adding:

These comic books are sold at the front checkout counters so they are highly visible to employees, managers, customers and children. Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to same-sex marriage in a toy store… Toys ‘R’ Us should be more responsible in the products they carry.

Toys ‘R’ Us has not responded to the pending boycott.

  1. These moms are on(to) something. If gay marriage becomes the norm, I’m pretty sure it will tear asunder the very fabric of society. (I don’t know how because I’m not super-positive I know exactly what “asunder” means.) However, I know it’s going to happen because… well, because my husband and I are working hard on it right this very minute.

At this point, I think we all need to ask ourselves one important question: What kind of fabric are we talking about? I think it’s important to know because, for example, linen would not only tear but would wrinkle like crazy… especially when you’re talking asunder-level tearing, you know?
