California state Assemblymember Toni Atkins (D) and Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood (R) have both announced their endorsement of Solana Beach Deputy Mayor Dave Roberts for Third District County Supervisor.

“The voters of San Diego County are looking for a proven leader with strong financial skills to be their next supervisor,” said state Assemblymember Toni Atkins. “Dave is a small business owner; has a graduate degree in Public Financial Management; and has demonstrated in his home community and throughout San Diego County that he has the right experience, energy and vision to seamlessly fill the Third District seat on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.”

Dave Roberts has been my colleague on various boards for a number of years,” said Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood. He has worked tirelessly on the executive committee of North County Transit District to lower fares and expand public transit service. He works in a bipartisan fashion and I believe is the best choice to fill the seat of retiring Supervisor Pam Slater-Price.”

“When I launched my campaign for county supervisor, I promised to work with all leaders to improve our region’s quality of life just as I have always done,” said Roberts upon announcing these two endorsements. “Having the support of two respected regional leaders such as Assemblymember Atkins and Mayor Wood means they know I will provide personalized service for all constituents in the County.”

Roberts launched his campaign for Third District supervisor Jan. 10. The primary election is June 5.
