The Welk Resort Theatre in Escondido has put a call out for non union and Equity actors to perform in Stepping Out, a play about the lives of a group of mainly women attending a weekly tap dance class in a dingy North London church hall.
Auditions will be held Feb. 27, 10 a.m. at the Welk Theatre at 8860 Lawrence Welk Drive, Escondido. There will be same-day callbacks. Actors are asked to prepare a 60-second monologue and be prepared to tap. All actors should have intermediate to advanced tap skills and an English accent is required for all roles except one.
Produced by Joshua Carr and directed by Jon Engstrom, Stepping Out rehearsals will start March 26 and performances will run April 12 – May 20 at the Welk Theatre.
