The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has announced a new anti-bullying PSA featuring WWE (formerly World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.) “superstars and divas,” Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Sheamus and Kofi Kingston. The Amplify Your Voice PSA, produced with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), debuted Dec. 13 on USA Network as part of the WWE Tribute to the Troops special.
The PSA urges viewers to take a stand against anti-LGBT bullying and directs viewers to GLAAD.org for resource kits offering best practices to parents, teachers and students. “By taking a stand against anti-LGBT bullying, WWE is sending a clear message that homophobia is unacceptable both in and outside of the ring,” said Mike Thompson, acting president of GLAAD.
