48th Annual North Park Toyland Parade: Dec. 3

North Park welcomes the 48th Annual North Park Toyland Parade and Holiday Fair this Saturday, Dec. 3 starting at 11 a.m. The historic parade will travel down University Avenue between Utah and Iowa Streets, with marching bands, upbeat dance groups, vintage cars, beauty queens, city officials and more. Santa Claus will be riding atop his merry red sleigh and bells will be ringing as this winter’s most beloved holiday event turns North Park into Toyland.

The historic North Park Toyland Parade is a community event that has been taking place in the San Diego community of North Park for the past 60 years. The parade was started in the 1930s as a way for North Park’s emerging business district to identify itself as a premier holiday shopping destination, while also providing entertainment for families.

The parade is a free, celebratory event that promotes community pride and each year provides holiday entertainment to over 5,000 spectators of all ages. The parade is also a key component to the continued economic revitalization of the North Park business district.
