Police say the man suspected of shooting a transgender woman Thursday in Hollywood may have also been the same man who robbed and shot fire toward another transgender victim in West Hollywood just 45 minutes after the heinous murder.

Cassidy Nathan Vickers, 32, died Thursday from gunshot wounds before police arrived on scene. She was found on the corner of Lexington Avenue and Gower Street according to Los Angeles Police Department, Officer Cleon Joseph.

Detectives believe Vickers was standing on a sidewalk when the suspect shot her. The woman was known to frequent neighborhoods and street corners trafficked by prostitution, although it is unclear if the suspected murderer had any connection to Vickers.

After shooting the victim, the suspect fled the scene and Vickers was found dead just before 10 p.m.

Just 45 minutes later at 10:45, another black transgender woman was unsuccessfully robbed at gunpoint in Plummer Park in West Hollywood. The victim was approached by the suspect, believed by police to be the same man, as he demanded her belongings including money and her purse. The woman refused, and the suspect fired one round with a semi-automatic handgun before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is said to be in his late 20s, between 5’ 9” and 5’ 10” black or African American descent, light facial hair, and skin tags around his eyes.

Police suspect he may be a transient. He is armed and dangerous. For any information relating to the crimes or the suspect, call LAPD homicide detectives at (213) 972-2910 or (877) LAPD-24- 7.
