Mayor Jerry Sanders has officially proclaimed Tuesday, Nov. 8 as Broadway/San Diego Day in an effort to recognize the value of the New York-based Nederlander Organization in America’s Finest City. The Nederlander Organization has brought culture, economic value, and the theater arts to San Diego, contributing to our thriving artists and community as a whole.

“We have much to celebrate about the current 35th Anniversary Season,” remarked Nederlander Vice President Joe Kobryner. “Much of our success can be attributed to the strong, mutually beneficial relationships we have forged within the community with our Spotlight Partner for Come Fly Away, The San Diego Union – Tribune who has always helped us tell our story. Together, we support Newspaper in Education which promotes literacy and excellence in local education by supplying newspapers for local area classrooms to serve as integral teaching and learning components.”

This special day will be in conjunction with the 35th Anniversary Production of Come Fly Away at the San Diego Civic Theatre – November 8-13.

Joe Kobryner added: “On behalf of the Nederlander Organization and Broadway/ San Diego we’d like to express our sincerest gratitude to residents and community leaders. Additional thanks goes to San Diego County Credit Union who has been our season sponsor of our work for six seasons.”
