New date! 12th annual Taste of Downtown

Take your taste buds out for a night on the town … downtown that is! Taste of Downtown is back this Thursday (rescheduled from Sept. 8 due to the blackout!) Choose from over 50 restaurants throughout the Gaslamp Quarter, Financial District, East Village and Little Italy. This self-guided walking tour will feature your favorite eateries, classic bistros, tasty takeouts and showcase the newest dining hot spots. A complimentary shuttle service will be available to take you to and from each neighborhood. All previously sold tickets will be valid for the new date.

Thibaudet plays Ravel concertos

For the San Diego Symphony’s opening concert of their next 100 years, they present today’s most acclaimed French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet for a rare duo of Maurice Ravel piano masterworks. Music Director Jahja Ling opens and closes the concert with vivid impressions of the Eternal City from two contrasting masters of orchestral color, Hector Berlioz and Ottorino Respighi.

Anthology presents the great Brazilian jazz singer Patty Ascher. Ascher combines pop and jazz with bossa and Latin ballads for a uniquely captivating performance. While singing in both her native Portuguese and English, Ascher beautifully interprets Michael Legrand and Burt Bacharach while delivering on her own R&B flavored originals.

San Diego Watercolor Society’s 31st International Exhibition

San Diego Watercolor Society’s (SDWS) 31st International Exhibition, showcasing the finest work from artists worldwide using water based paint on paper, is now available for viewing. Fast becoming a major hub for San Diego’s arts and culture the Gallery is a showcase for the tremendous variety of watermedia art created by more than 700 SDWS members.
