Leonardo DiCaprio and Clint Eastwood have voiced their opposition to gay marriage bans. In an interview in the October issue of GQ magazine the pair discuss their upcoming movie J. Edgar and their views on gay marriage.
In typical style Eastwood said he’s OK with gay marriage, “These people who are making a big deal about gay marriage? I don’t give a f— about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?! We’re making a big deal out of things we shouldn’t be making a deal out of … Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want.”
Agreeing with Eastwood DiCaprio said, “That’s the most infuriating thing – watching these people focus on these things. Meanwhile, there’s the onset of global warming and these incredibly scary and menacing things with the future of our economy.”
DiCaprio stars as FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover in the upcoming Eastwood-directed J. Edgar.
The movie is about J. Edgar Hoover, who is thought to have been secretly gay. The screenplay was written by Dustin Lance Black, who wrote Milk.
J. Edgar will open the 25th edition of the AFI Fest in Hollywood on Nov. 3.
