Music, fun, food and prizes will be in-store for prospective singers and volunteers attending San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus’s (SDGMC) “Join the Chorus Info Night” on Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at the chorus’ rehearsal space at University Christian Church in Hillcrest.
All interested singers and non-singing volunteers who would like to join the chorus or who want to learn more about the group are welcome to attend. The evening will also include auditions for the upcoming winter 2011 holiday concert.
“Info Night is your chance to learn more about the 140-member chorus, meet members and make new friends,” says SDGMC Artistic Director Gary Holt. “And there’s no better time to join because this concert season has been the most fun and most well-attended ever! GuyTunes, our recent summer concert in late July, was our highest ticket-selling concert to date and featured over 100 hit songs made famous by guy groups from the 1960s to the present. The following week, we performed at a sold-out San Diego Summer Pops concert of Broadway’s Tony Winners.”
The chorus asks all interested singers to pre-register for Info Night by completing and submitting a no-obligation member application. The membership application along with details about the audition process can be found at sdgmc.org then click on the “Join Us” link.
