San Diego Women’s Chorus (SDWC) kicks off its 24th annual fall season Aug. 28 at 4 p.m. and welcomes new and returning members at this first rehearsal.
For almost 25 years, SDWC has been encouraging women to express their creativity through music. The chorus is a feminist and lesbian-identified chorus that strives to entertain, educate and inspire. This non-auditioned choral ensemble welcomes all women to join, as long as the singer can match her pitch to the piano. SDWC’s music speaks to varied issues such as human rights, love, world peace, religious freedom and cultural diversity. SDWC supports and affirms the music of women, as well as lesbian and gay composers and arrangers.
SDWC is looking for women who are passionate about music and our community to become a part of their musical family. If you love to sing or listen to music, join SDWC at their first rehearsal of the season when the chorus begins to prepare for their 24th annual winter concert, Heaven & Earth on Dec. 10 and 11.
SDWC rehearsals are Sundays, 4-7 p.m. at the Mission Hills United Church of Christ, 4070 Jackdaw St., San Diego 92103. To become a part of SDWC’s musical family, email info@sdwc.org or come to the Aug. 28 rehearsal at the Mission Hills United Church of Christ. For more information on SDWC, go to sdwc.org.
