Darren Criss, the actor who scored a place in the spotlight as Kurt’s openly-gay love interest on “Glee,” is scheduled to hit Broadway in January as Daniel Radcliffe’s replacement in the smash revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, theater organizers officially confirmed Criss’ casting on Monday. The actor will play J. Pierrepont Finch at the Al Hirschfeld Theater after Radcliffe concludes his run in the role on January 1, 2012, and continue with the production until the tentative closing date of January 22. Rumors suggest that the show’s producers hope to extend its Broadway run – but thus far, no such extension has been decisively confirmed.

Criss has filled Radcliffe’s theatrical shoes before – albeit in a more satirical fashion. The emerging “Glee” star took the lead in several “Harry Potter” parodies on YouTube – “A Very Potter Musical” and “A Very Potter Sequel.”
