The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble presents Summer Pops Concert, featuring music from stage, screen and the small screen, at the historic Mississippi Room of the Lafayette Hotel on Saturday, July 30, 7 p.m. The concert features cabaret-style seating and complimentary hors d’oeuvres at 6:30 p.m. and a no host bar throughout the evening.
Under the direction of John Winkelman, the evening’s musical selections include epic scores from Ben-Hur and Pirates of the Caribbean, lighter classic television themes, and a salute to Gershwin featuring the spectacular, An American in Paris. The evening will also feature Robert Sokolowski as guest vocalist and emcee.
Summer Pops Concert tickets are $15 and are available from any band member, at The Windsmith (at 3875 Granada Ave.), or at the door.
