“Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe bid farewell to his career as the boy wizard with this month’s release of the highly-anticipated film series finale, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.”
With the conclusion of the magical franchise comes a new chapter in Radcliffe’s life – one that has already included a fair amount of speculation regarding the former child star’s love life and sexual orientation.
As a staunch advocate for LGBT rights and a popular feature in several gay magazines, Radcliffe recently inspired rumors linking him to the gay community. However, according to the International Business Times, the actor explained that he has a girlfriend who he is “very much in love with.”
“If people want to say that [I am gay] they can. I’m not. I’m straight,” Radcliffe told reporters during an MTV interview. However, he also reportedly described the gay rumors as “awesome” – a response in keeping with his commitment to LGBT advocacy through initiatives like The Trevor Project.
