Considering the economic climate, it seems that everyone is looking for a deal, bargain or discount. The San Diego LGBT community can save some cash – while giving back to the community at the same time – with the Pride Card.
“With the current state of the economy, the Pride Card is a great way to help out LGBT-supportive businesses as well as give an extra discount to those who frequent those businesses,” said Bo Andras, the creator of the Pride Card.
Andras launched the card two years ago at Pride. It was an immediate success, both with the people who were using the card and the businesses that were offering discounts.
“There are 66 categories, and a total of 125 different businesses,” Andras said. All the businesses, the respective discounts and contact information is listed at thepridecard.com.
This Pride, the card is being offered for free. You can pick up a free card at several locations throughout Hillcrest and North Park, including Ace Hardware, Fiji Yogurt, The Crypt in Hillcrest and in North Park, House Boi and ManKind.
