Reality television program The Real World, the longest-running program in MTV history, and one of the longest-running reality series in history, is returning to San Diego for season 26.
This is the second time the show has been located in San Diego. The fourteenth season was filmed in the Point Loma area in 2003.
This time the show will be in the La Jolla Bird Rock area in a 6,800-square-foot six-bedroom, six-bath house valued at $3.4 million on 5212 Chelsea Street near Tourmaline Beach.
The show focuses on the lives of eight strangers who audition to live together in a house for several months, as cameras record their interpersonal relationships. The footage is then edited into approximately 12 one-hour episodes.
San Diego is the fifth city to be re-used as a season’s location, following New York City, Los Angeles, New Orleans and Las Vegas.
The Real World cast is set to move into their house in La Jolla in late June and filming is scheduled to finish by Sept. 5.
