Gay Glee star Chris Colfer, 21, will publish two books with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.
The first, The Land of Stories, is targeted for the 8-12 age groups and will tell the tale of twins Alex and Conner Bailey who use the mysterious powers of a cherished book of stories to leave their world behind and find themselves in a foreign land full of wonder and magic. It will be released in the summer of 2012, and will be followed by a second untitled novel.
Announcing the books Colfer said, “When I was ten years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance. This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I’m excited and nervous to share it.”
Senior vice-president and publisher of Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, Megan Tingley said, “We are delighted to have The Land of Stories on the Little, Brown list.
