Cynthia Nixon of “Sex and the City” and New York Ranger Sean Avery traveled to New York yesterday to lobby for the legalization of same-sex marriage.
According to the New York Daily News, Nixon said the ‘feel’ of her visit was different than when the bill was rejected two years ago, and explained there has since been “thoughtful debate and deep thinking on this issue.”
As a New York City native, Nixon said she wants to marry her fiancé of two years in her home state.
Sean Avery of the New York Rangers, a recent advocate for the legalization of gay marriage, joined Nixon in Albany to meet with senators about the issue.
Avery expressed his hope that sports fans might be encourage by his decision to support gay marriage and be motivated to join the cause.
