Concierge Travel, the Houston-based, LGBT-oriented travel company that recently announced a lesbian and gay cruise on the world’s largest cruise ship, has now launched plan for the first gay and lesbian cruise on Peru’s fabled Amazon River.
The seven-night river cruise is scheduled to set sail on October 27, 2012. Guests will travel aboard the Aqua, an intimate, 24-passenger, 12-suite river ship, and meander through the three main tributaries of the Amazon. The cruise will launch from Iquitos, Peru and include ample time for land excursions featuring the Amazon’s distinctive and exotic flora and fauna.
The Aqua, designed by a Peruvian architect and built expressly for river cruise line Aqua Expeditions, is only three years old and the first luxury vessel of its kind created for trips to the northern Amazon. Amenities on the ship include a lounge and dining room, and fares for the gay and lesbian cruise start at $6,250 per person.
