Out and About at La Jolla Playhouse
Out and About is an all-inclusive Thursday evening social mixer and performance series for San Diego’s LGBT community. Enjoy signature cocktails and delicious appetizers at a happy hour mixer, followed by an evening production.
This Thursday La Jolla Playhouse presents A Dram of Drummhicit. Artistic Director Christopher Ashley directs the world premiere of acclaimed playwright Arthur Kopit and Anton Dudley’s supernatural comedy.

Out at the Globe
Another evening for the whole LGBT community. This event includes a hosted wine and martini bar, appetizers, door prizes and a pre-show mixer. There is a choice of two shows: August: Osage County, one of the most acclaimed plays of the last decade and winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, or Life of Riley, Alan Ayckbourn’s hilarious new comedy.

Smooth jazz
Catch the Gail Jhonson Band at Anthology. Gail Jhonson is a Philadelphia-bred jazz pianist who has performed with artists like Bobby Womack, Pink, Norman Brown, Vanessa Williams, Bobby Lyle/featuring Mindi Abair, Dave Koz, Jermaine Jackson and Sheila E.
“I enjoy both the jazz world and R&B world,” says Jhonson, “I approach contemporary jazz, or smooth jazz , like Grover Washington, Jr.: I keep the jazz melodies and the funk rhythms. I want everyone to have a good time.”

Glee Live!
Twentieth Century Fox Television’s critically acclaimed Glee Live! In Concert!, starring 13 members of the television show’s cast, comes to San Diego for one day only.
Glee Live! In Concert! is a unique concert experience that includes live performances of some of the show’s most memorable musical numbers, including “Empire State of Mind,” “Toxic,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” “It’s My Life,” and of course, the show’s anthem, “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

New Play Festival
Every year, The Underground New Play Festival selects and mounts a full production for six to eight new short plays.
New and experienced directors, designers, and actors join together to create works of art bigger than any one person could hope for; works of art that could not exist as they do in any other place, with any other artists.
This Monday features Showcase B which includes, Big Bang, A Likely Story, Broken China and Honey Bears and Surprise in Sea Sharp.

Bold Expressions
A unique exhibition that showcases more than 50 African American quilts from the collection of Corrine Riley. The quilts were made throughout the American South between 1910 and the 1970s. Stunning color combinations and distinctively free patterns epitomize an artistic vision that is unique to the American folk art tradition. African American quilts, made entirely by women, are celebrated for their bold improvisation and modern take on traditional quilting patterns, such as the House Top or Log Cabin, Star of Bethlehem and Pine Burr.

Shall we play a game?
On the first Wednesday of every month, Men @ The Center presents Guys, Games and Grub, the largest men’s social event at The Center.
