Facebook apologizes for photo removal

UNITED KINGDOM – Facebook has apologized for removing a photo of a gay kiss, that was posted to accompany a post in support of a gay couple that were kicked out of a pub.

Facebook warned Richard Metzger who had posted the story, and subsequently removed the image. According to NYULocal.com, the photo was quickly removed and the following e-mail was sent to administrators of the Facebook page: “Shares that contain nudity, or any kind of graphic or sexually suggestive content, are not permitted on Facebook.”

Later Facebook said in a statement, “The photo in question does not violate our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and was removed in error. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
