Are you the next John Galliano? Let me clarify, do you want his career, not actually be him? Is Project Runway the center of your universe? Do you have serious aspirations of becoming a fashion designer?
If so, Art Meets Fashion, a citywide event that kicks off April 16 is offering local designers the opportunity to showcase their work at an Open Catwalk on Friday, May 6. If you have a collection of original fashion designs and can provide your own models, then this is a great opportunity to get some exposure. Participation is free and no RSVP is needed. Email info@sdvisualarts.net or call 760-943-0148for more information.
Art Meets Fashion is the brainchild of the San Diego Visual Arts Network (SDVAN) and FOCUS, a fashion industry networking organization. The two organizations joined forces with the common goal of enlivening the San Diego art scene by assembling teams of artists and fashion designers. The results of these numerous collaborations will be shown to the public in various fabulous forms and forums from April-June.
Go to artmeetsfashion.org to find out what’s happening and where.
The Open Catwalk is part of a reception, taking place at the NTC Promenade. This evening event will also include a dance performance, a formal fashion show and gallery receptions throughout Liberty Station.
