LGBT Pride gains support for Out at the Park

San Diego LGBT Pride’s upcoming Out at the Park event with the San Diego Padres is gaining community-wide momentum as several LGBT organizations and major businesses have come on board to support the Petco Park outing, scheduled for 5:35 p.m., May 7.

The organizations assisting in ticket sales include the Golden State Gay Rodeo Association (San Diego chapter), the Log Cabin Republicans, America’s Finest City Softball League and The Center’s Senior Services.

This year’s sponsors are Wells Fargo, Bud Light and Vons.

Tickets to the game are $15, and are available on San Diego Pride’s web site, SanDiegoPride.org and at various retail outlets throughout Hillcrest. The game will be preceded by a tailgate party from 3:30 to 5 p.m., at Imperial Avenue and 14th Street, where fans will be afforded food, cocktails and soft drinks for a flat price of $5.

In addition, it is the first time since Out at the Park was introduced that hundreds of LGBT attendees and their supporters will enjoy block seating, which has been reserved within the stadium’s upper infield section.

Out at the Park is among several official Pride events leading up to this year’s annual rally, parade and festival, scheduled the weekend of July 15-17. For more information or to inquire about this year’s volunteer opportunities, visit the web site at SanDiegoPride.org or call 619-297-7683.
