North Park is the place to be (once again) for a couple of interesting art events on Saturday, April 23. UPDATE: The launch of the 2837 University at Agitprop in North Park has been moved by the organizers from April 23 to May 14.
Head to Agitprop, behind Glenn’s Market at 2837 University Ave. and Art Produce Gallery a few blocks east at 3139 University Ave. between 3 and 8 p.m. to catch two exhibitions opening that night and to learn about 2837 University, a recently formed network of creative thinkers, small businesses, community members and sites in North Park.
This project, an unorthodox method of knowledge exchange, will be officially launched at a keynote orientation at Agitprop at 7 p.m., followed by a website launch at 8 p.m. and the distribution of a catalog listing future classes.
The broader goal of 2837 University is to encourage knowledge exchange, facilitate courses and events (many of them participatory and art related) and coordinate the interests and resources of the community. Find out more at 2837university.org.
