Louis J. Marinelli III worked for years against the equality of marriage. As a conservative Republican, he believed his values were in opposition of the constitutional principles of equality. However, in a recent video released by this former National Organization for Marriage staffer, Marinelli proclaims that he is a “New Yorker for Marriage Equality.”
In this video, Marinelli speaks from St. Petersburg, Russia, in hopes of reaching an audience to secure the right to marriage for all New Yorkers. He states that marriage equality is not a political issue; being conservative and supporting marriage equality are not mutually exclusive, but compatible.
Marinelli has displayed a complete 180, now voicing his strong support for marriage equality. He explains that everyone is deserving of the freedom to marry.
