San Diegans ‘jailed’ during charity event

The Pride Card, Global Male Productions and The Brass Rail present Wanted: Jailed At The Rail, a charity experience April 17 to benefit a dozen LGBT non-profit organizations.

Local community leaders and celebrities are being put in “jail” and must raise $1,000 in donations to make bail. Tickets are $5 each; door tickets are $7 and you choose which non-profit receives that donation.

The participating people and their respective non-profits include: Aaron Heier for The Center; Frank Jones for Family Matters; Dr. Tim Shannahan for Home Start; Emperor Allan Spyere for Imperial Court; Kelly Gilliland for Greater San Diego Gay Rodeo Association; Anthony Rollar for Leather Pride; Glitz Glamour for Special Delivery; Ian Johnson for Christies Place; Benny Cartwright for San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus; Joseph Rocha for USD Pride Club; and Ronnie Kerr for Family Health Centers of San Diego. Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol is supplying the prison guards for this event and benefits from $2 shots and raffle baskets.

The event is noon to 5 p.m. at The Brass Rail, 3796 Fifth Ave., in Hillcrest.
