No, that year Judy Holliday won the Best Actress Oscar for Born Yesterday, which is also notable for being one the few times that this award went to a comedienne being funny.
Holliday is damn funny in this movie. She plays the dippy but adorable girlfriend of a boorish businessman who wants her to learn how to be a proper lady. Sexy and charming William Holden is brought in to teach her. Hilarity ensues.
