The Vagina Monologues
The local women’s empowerment organization, Tribal Truth, presents Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues featuring 16 stories about women’s sexuality that evoke laughter, pain, frustration, sadness, fear and excitement.
A poignant and hilarious tour of the last frontier, the ultimate forbidden zone, The Vagina Monologues is a celebration of female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery. The fabulous 42nd Street
Coronado School of the Arts presents the Tony Award-winning musical 42nd Street. Prepare to be dazzled by this classic show that captures all the drama, energy and magic of Broadway. When famous producer Julian Marsh puts on what may be his last Broadway show, a chorus girl has to replace the star two days before opening. This fun musical features fabulous choreography and iconic songs such as “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and, of course, “42nd Street.”

The Hillcrest Wind Enemble
The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble presents Spring Classics-Music for Winds at St. Paul’s Cathedral where the vibrant acoustics bring to life the music of Vaughn Williams, Barber, Persichetti and more.
This concert features music originally written for wind instruments, be it band, wind ensemble or orchestral winds. Special highlights include the Samuel Barber “Commando March” and Ralph Vaughn Williams “Sea Songs”. Also on the evening’s program are two selections by Robert W. Smith, “To Dance in the Secret Garden” and “Trail of Dreams” two wonderful band pieces written within the last few years.
Under the direction of John Winklemen, the 45 piece ensemble is a program of the LGBT Center and is made up of a diverse cross section of the community as a whole.

Dame Evelyn Glennie performs
The San Diego Symphony presents a Jacobs Masterworks Concert Dame Evelyn Glennie Performs. One of the most exciting and distinctive performers in classical music today, percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, comes to Symphony Hall for an unforgettable performance of a John Corigliano percussion concerto. Concert also features Ludwig van Beethoven’s Second Symphony, all conducted by special guest Thomas Wilkins of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

Raúl Cordero
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego presents Raúl Cordero: Hendrickj. The Cuban-born artist, Raúl Cordero presents a series of nine related oil on canvas paintings that together go under the title Hendrickje. Rembrandt van Rijn’s iconic painting of his devoted lover and common-law wife, entitled A Woman bathing in a Stream (Hendrickje Stoffels?) (1654), is taken as the structural framework for the entire series, which together forms a single painting, documented by a photograph that is also part of the work.

The ultimate jazz vocalist
Anthology presents Kurt Elling. Elling is an American jazz vocalist, composer, lyricist and vocalese performer from Chicago. He has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards, winning Best Vocal Jazz Album for Dedicated to You (2009).
Since 1995, Elling has collaborated with pianist, composer and arranger Laurence Hobgood, leading a quartet that regularly tours the world. The Washington Post describes Elling as, “The owner of a remarkable four-octave voice and astounding improvisational chops, and is regarded by his peers as the ultimate jazz vocalist.”
