Aside from being one of the best acted, juiciest and entertaining films ever made, 1958s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, based on Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, features both Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman at their most insanely attractive.
It’s possible that no man was or will be hotter than Paul Newman in this movie. The play is a lot gayer than the movie, but gay audiences can read between the lines.
Brick (Newman) is depressed, bitter and drunk because, among other things, his “best friend” has died. Brick’s wife Maggie (Taylor) wants Brick to get over himself and love her again. Watching this is a great way to remember Dame Elizabeth.
