AHN Entertainment announced Monday that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will receive the Trevor Project Hero Award for his involvement with the LGBT youth crisis support organization.
Radcliffe, who became affiliated with the Trevor Project in 2009, has appeared in several of the group’s public service announcements and received accolades for his work on behalf of LGBT youth.
The Trevor Project awards ceremony will take place in New York on June 11, 2011.
Radcliffe has expressed gratitude and a deep sense of honor upon learning of the award, and told the New York Daily News that he considers recognition from the Trevor Project is the most important thing he has been involved with thus far in his career.
Daniel Radcliffe is currently performing on Broadway in a production of “How to Succede in Business Without Really Trying.”
