Mama’s Kitchen sponsors Man Diego, a tournament style “Bar Olympics” competition for men and women, March 30, 6-9 p.m. at True North Tavern in North Park.
“Hosting Man Diego in the San Diego community of North Park brings the mission of Mama’s Kitchen to the heart of the city that we serve, and we hope to introduce our organization to those who may not have heard of us before,” explains Alberto Cortes, executive director, Mama’s Kitchen.
Man Diego is hosted by True North Tavern, located at 3815 30th Street. Teams move through three rounds of short quick bar games (sans alcohol), capped off with a taco eating contest to decide the winner.
There are a limited number of spots available for teams to participate. Pre-event registration for a team of two people is $60 ($30 per team member) and includes games registration, T-shirts, complimentary drink tickets and two faux ‘staches (if you don’t have your own). Spectators are welcome too, and tickets are just $10 per person.
