The Center hosts a free Same Sex Couple Tax Filing and IRS Community Workshop, March 29 at 6 p.m. The event features Michael Williams, partner of Williams and Dodson, CPA, who will review the change and provide resources for same-sex couples for this filing cycle.
A 2010 IRS ruling has changed how California domestic partners and same-sex married couples file their taxes, potentially offering larger refunds. Yet the Federal change still does not offer the same rights as opposite-sex married couples.
