‘Wizard of Oz’ debuts in London

Andrew Lloyd Webber, composer of such classics as Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats, Starlight Express and The Phantom of the Opera, has opened his new production of The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium in London’s West End.

Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic, totally reconceived for the stage by the award-winning creative team that delighted audiences of all ages with their recent London Palladium revival of The Sound of Music.

Developed from the popular MGM screenplay, this new production contains all the much-loved songs from the Oscar winning movie score, as well as all the favorite characters and iconic moments. It now includes a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Lloyd Webber.

The Wizard of Oz stars Michael Crawford as The Wizard and Danielle Hope as Dorothy. More information on the production can be found at wizardofozthemusical.com.
