OKLAHOMA – The head of an Oklahoma LGBT center has been charged with one count of forcible sodomy and two counts of making lewd proposals to a child.
Nathan Bowen, 32, is the president of the Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays community center in Enid, Oklahoma.
Investigators say Bowen admitted he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy. A police affidavit claims he admitted to engaging in sexual contact with the boy for several hours while they were alone at the center.
Bowen’s attorney, Brittany Novotny, has released a statement proclaiming Bowen’s innocence and claiming he had refused his accuser’s advances.
Bowen was being held in the Garfield County jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. The community center is closed and all events are postponed, according to the group’s website.
