Come celebrate the Year of the Rabbit
San Diego celebrates the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit, at The 29th Annual Chinese New Year Food and Cultural Fair in downtown San Diego, on Saturday, Feb.12 and Sunday, Feb. 13.
The celebration includes lion and dragon dances, martial arts demonstrations, acrobats, traditional Chinese music performances, folk dances, taiko drumming, and plenty of food and craft vendors. The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum at 404 Third Ave. is to feature a variety of Asian goods for sale, and traditional New Year’s prints on display.

‘Little Miss Sunshine’ on stage
The La Jolla Playhouse presents Little Miss Sunshine, an outrageously funny and surprisingly touching new musical based on the Academy Award-winning film.
The performance, which starts at 7:30 p.m., follows the lives of the Hoover family at a point when everything seems to be going awry. But when the youngest Hoover, energetic Olive, enters a regional children’s beauty pageant, the family thinks their luck could change and embarks on a cross-country trek chasing the coveted title of “Little Miss Sunshine.”
