San Diego has one of the best pet expositions in the nation and it runs January 29-30 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This is a perfect event for the existing or potential pet owner.
The San Diego Pet Expo will have over 100 exhibitors covering all aspects of pet care and ownership. If you are interested in a particular breed, the Meet the Breed booth will allow you to get up close and personal with different breeds throughout the showcase. Need a pet dentist, doctor, allergist or photographer? Many will have booths to address your questions and help you navigate the concerns of pet ownership. Looking to adopt a pet? Several adoption groups are participants over the two day expo. Fido still chewing up your shoes? There will also be seminars on dog training. Of course, there will be exhibitors that address the food, clothing and toy needs of that important pet in your life.
Entertainment includes “The Birdman” from Las Vegas, Mr. Tyson the skateboarding Bulldog, Ricochet the Surf Dog and Doc Barker. There are also wild animal displays and a rare Golden Eagle will also be on hand, literally.
Proceeds from the Expo benefit San Diego animal shelters and care groups. Admission to the Pet Expo is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors 62+, and kids 16 and under are free with an adult. You can bring donations in lieu of cash – a 10 lb. bag of pet food for two admissions or a blanket or two clean towels for one admission. The fairgrounds only allow pets that are participating in competitions on the grounds.
